Out of the Doghouse and into the Font Fire

Are you a man? Have you been married? If you've answered 'yes' to these two questions, then you know what the concept of being "in the doghouse" refers to.  If you're in the doghouse with your wife or significant other, that clearly means that you have royally fucked up in some way and now need to figure out a way to get your butt back in good graces. You'll also know that sleeping on the couch, the guest room, or the front porch is not exactly the best place for a peaceful 8 hours, but until you get out of the proverbial doghouse there will be no "happy fun times" for you. Fortunately, your Holiday Hero was not in the doghouse today (since July 16 is National Get Out of the Doghouse Day), so he didn't have to try to get back in my good graces. That's why I <3 him! However, today is National Get out of the Doghouse Day, and it is basically a reprieve for anyone who has been in hot water with his/her significant other. It's pretty much a "Get Out of Jail Free" card! Here's one hound dog, on the other hand, that wait to get BACK in the doghouse:
 Writing an apology letter? :)

Today is also National Change Your Font Day. Notice how the font of this blog has changed! And look! I did it again. According Urban Dictionary, this holiday is celebrated every July 16th and is generally associated with changing your font on instant messaging systems like yahoo! or msn. I think most people have moved on from instant messaging using these systems, but Skype, Facebook messenger, and Google messenger are still very much in use. I think I'll stick to changing fonts on the blog. Here's hoping you spent your day engaging with the variety of fonts available. Personally, Junicode is one of my faves since it has Old English characters.

More holidays to come,

CS, out!
