Writing a Zine about Mirrors, Eye Injuries, and the Sun!

In the most narcissist of fashions, today was Compliment Your Mirror Day. Your mirror provides an integral service for your everyday life; how often do you check the mirror before heading out the door? Did you ever model outfits in the mirror before going out on a hot date (I know, no one says that anymore)? Well, today you can go compliment/thank your mirror for continually showing you a sparkling image each and every day. Your Holiday Team sure did:
Compliments abounding!

Our second and third holidays go hand-in-hand today since it is Stay out of the Sun Day and National Prevention of Eye Injuries Awareness Month (Don't watch Final Destination 5 if you're squeamish about intentional eye injuries!).
In order to celebrate these two occasions, we stayed inside the house except for taking the dogs out. For these times, I made sure to always wear my shades!

I totally felt like Claudia sneaking into Louie's room in Interview with a Vampire!

Even Artie got into the holiday Spirit!
Finally, July is International Zine Month. For those that don't know, a zine is a small booklet written by one person that can be about a specific subject or a variety of them. It can be a compilation of stories, poems, short quips, journal entries, or whatever. Many include personal anecdotes and pictures. There is also a giant zine fest in Portland every year in August designed to bring zinesters together from all over the country. Here in ABQ, there is a great collection of zine writers, many of whom are close personal friends of our Holiday Team!

Hope your day was fun (not) in the sun!
CS, out.
