Dinos and Clowns Tumble for Ice Cream Sandwiches

Welcome to Jurassic Park! Haha...not really, but today (Thursday, June 2) is Dinosaurs Day, and the members of our house simply adore the dinos! From the stegosaurus to the T-Rex, the dinosaurs ruled the world far before humans ever thought of existing. Natural history museums regularly have the bones of these extinct giants, and the Holiday Hero and I love visiting them and staring at how tall and big they truly are. Here we are outside of the Natural History Museum with Spike (pentaceratops) and Alberta (Albertasaurus)--I'm pretty happy that these guys don't presently exist.

Everyone should really obey these signs...you never know!

Now, think to yourself what could possibly be scarier than reanimated dinosaurs once again walking the earth? Your answer should, of course, be CLOWNS! However, we must put our fears aside and commemorate these frightening creatures because this week is International Clown Week. The world has been entranced by the antics and "funny" faces of clowns for decades, and this is the week to remember all of those clowns to have brightened our day at the circus, the carnival, kids' birthday parties...
...or in your nightmares...
This guy probably haunted far too many of us!

Following the clowns is a holiday that celebrates those who have the acrobatic talents of every member of a circus and even more poise: Gymnastics Day. Normally, it might be a little tough to celebrate the gymnasts of the world, but this year is quite easy. Since the summer Olympics are currently going on, we were able to watch the best in the world contort their bodies and flip around on balance beams, uneven bars, floors, vaults, rings, and pommel horses.

How do they do this shit?
As a former cheerleader and dancer, I was able to do a bit of tumbling like cartwheels, roundhouses, 1-handed cartwheels, and handstands. At my current place in my life, I can still do a cartwheel! Yay!

And now I'd like to finish today's blog with a tasty treat: National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! I definitely don't think very many of my generation could remember a summer of their childhoods that did not include an ice cream sandwich or two. We definitely love nostalgia plus delightful ice cream-y goodness:
 Yeah...Neapolitan!
NomNomNom

And we're done...for one more day.
CS, out.
